Holiday Gift Guide - Fantasy Jewelry Box Review

Are you looking for the perfect jewelry to go with your outfit for a Holiday dinner, or maybe even for New Years? I was, but now that I was sent the Karolanna's Butterfly Applique Black Fabric Necklace & Earrings Set to review I have one less accessory to worry about! This necklace goes along perfectly with low collared tops or dresses, and is gorgeous enough for the fanciest of dinners.

The choker style necklace does have a ring which is meant to be used as the clasp, but there is a bit of chain that fastens the ring to the fabric piece and I found I could wear the necklace closer to my neck by fastening it further down the chain.

The matching earrings are just as lovely, although one of mine was reversed and I had to fix it with a pair of pliers. If I had worn it as it came, the gem would have only been visible from the back of my head. The fabric on both the necklace & earrings is fairly delicate, so I didn't give it the toddler test by letting my daughter pull on it. I think the set should last for a long time as long as I can keep her away from it!

I also wanted to show off the Aralynn's Dainty Opal Sterling Silver Ring that I got myself for my birthday which was back in October. I had my eye on this ring ever since my first time looking around Fantasy Jewelry Box so my Birthday was the perfect time since Opal is Octobers Birthstone. I measured my finger using both a plastic ring sizer and the measurements provided on their site and found out that I would need a size 8.5. Since they do not offer half sizes, I ordered a size up and it turned out that size 9 was too big so be careful in choosing your size if your measurements are in between.

Fantasy Jewelry Box is the first place I look when I'm itching for a new piece of jewelry, and it's the first place I recommend when someone asks me where to find the best, inexpensive jewelry too! They specialize in Celebrity Inspired Jewelry, but also carry Faux Wedding Sets and even jewelry for Men!

Holiday Gift Guide - Prank Packs

When I received an email for what I thought was an invitation to review an iArm my first impression would best be described in one word - Huh? I then started to think of the possibilities and considered whether this would be a product that I could actually put to use in order to write a fair review.

Once I scrolled down to read on, I couldn't help but laugh at myself when I realized that I was not looking at a strange new product, but a very funny gift box. If Prank Packs were able to fool me through email, imagine the reaction you would get from your un-expecting gift recipients! If you are anything like me, you should be more than happy to take any chance you can get to cause a little laughter with your loved ones.

I chose two funny gift boxes for this review - the Coffee Talkies and the Wake & Bake Griddle. Now, I haven't gifted them yet so I can't tell you about the reactions they caused but based on my own reaction upon first glance, I'm sure it will be a blast.

Prank Packs are made in the USA of American cardboard and ink and are available in 9 different designs. They measure 11.25 x 9 x 3.25 - the size of a giant phone book. Sure to be the hit of the next party you're dragged into, Prank Pack fake gift boxes appear to contain ridiculous products from clueless companies. Just pack your real gift inside, sit back and revel in their half-hearted enthusiasm.

Got a person on your gift list who loves coffee...really loves coffee? Put your gift in a Coffee Talkie box. They'll look at you cross-eyed. Guaranteed.
Know someone whose hobbies include cooking and/or sleeping? Then the Dream Griddle is the perfect gift! With industry-leading features like a convenient Snooze/Preheat function and a built-in carbon monoxide detector; it's easy to see why Wake & Bake is the clear choice.

Buy it!
Prank Packs cost $8 each, or you can buy 3 for $20 with a flat rate of $5 for US shipping no matter how many you buy.

Win It!
One of you will get to choose your own Prank Pack!
Open to Canada and the US, Ends November 22nd

{Halloween Birthday Bash} Squinkies Review

I received a bubble pack of Squinkies as well as a Birthday Surprize Bracelet for review and didn't stand a chance in keeping these away from my daughter when she spotted them! She loved them right off the bat and started carrying them around with her "Pets" (which is what she calls her collection of favorite toys, mostly Littlest Pet Shop).

If you are familiar with the Teeniest Tiniest Littlest Pet Shop toys which are available, these are similar in size but instead of being made out of hard plastic they are soft and squishy. Each one comes with it's own ball just like the toys that come in the coin operated machines you see in stores. The bubble pack comes with 16 Squinkies, 4 of which come in a colored ball so that they remain a surprise .

The only downside that I have found with Squinkies is that they are slightly tacky on the surface and if you have a lot of pet hair in your house it will stick to the toys and make them look like miniature balding cats. It does rinse off easily, and would probably be less of a problem if I had a vacuum! She has also lost a few since they are so small but with a tiny toy like this that is to be expected.

Squishy, squooshy, squashy and totally adorable, Squinkies is the eagerly awaited new mini doll and pet, accessory and playset line destined to be the hottest new must-have kids’ collectible toy sensation. Squinkies friend and pet dolls come encased in unique toy plastic bubbles. Pop open the bubble and you’ll find a Squinkies surprise inside!

Launched in July 2010 by Blip Toys, the initial release includes a collection of 96 micro dolls (series 1 – 6) packaged sixteen each in a selection of popularly themed blister card Squinkies Suprize Inside Bubble Packs. The collection’s initial three fun themes are Fantasy, Princess, and Birthday with many other additional themes and dolls to come!

With new collectible Squinkies dolls to be released on a regular basis, the line will feature hundreds of figures to collect, trade and share. As a resukt kids will enjoy the ability to enjoy endless hours of imaginative game play as they create their very own special Squinkies world.

In addition to the Suprize Inside Bubble Packs, the Squinkies line includes a variety of fun accessories and play coin dispenser playsets at a variety of price points that will accommodate any budget. There’s always a surprise with Squinkies dispenser playsets as each playset is creatively themed with meticulous detail and come with plastic toy bubbles with Squinkies inside plus accessories to round out play!

As part of the dispenser play, toy coins are inserted into the playset slot allowing kids to twist the dial and dispense a Squinkie surprise! Each playset dispenser is large enough to hold several Squinkies inside their plastic toy bubbles. Squinkies figures, playsets and accessories are each sold separately.

Yesterday was my Daughters Birthday, and she was very happy with her gift - more Squinkies! I got lucky and won some more in a giveaway from another blog and knew they would be exactly what she wanted! I even put some aside to save for the Holidays. My Daughter loves her Squinkies and I love that they truly are priced to be affordable starting at only $9.99 for the Bubble Pack.

I think these would also be great for dividing into goodie bags at Birthday Parties or for giving to children on Halloween! If you have an award system at home where the kids get a prize for good behavior, these could be great for that too. You can purchase Squinkies from Target, Walmart, Toys R Us, Shopko, Meijer, and Amazon

Learn more about Squinkies by checking out their blog, follow them on Twitter, or like them on Facebook. Hint: Be sure to check out their blog for a special Halloween Giveaway coming up!

{Halloween Birthday Bash} Pink Princess

Every little girl likes being a princess, so when I told my daughter that she was allowed to pick her favorite costume from Pink Princess that was exactly what she chose. She chose the Sleeping Beauty Costume to be exact, which is indeed a Pink Princess!

The costume is absolutely gorgeous and of high quality. The bodice is a soft crushed velvet with silver trim and rose accents on the iridescent collar. The silk skirt is equally gorgeous and is draped with iridescent hip drapes as well. I have never seen such quality in a children's' costume before! My daughter loves her princess costume!

I chose size large for my daughter, and it fits her perfectly. It is labelled as age 5-7 and since my daughter is turning 6 I would say it is true to size. I was actually hoping it would have been a little too big, since it does get cold here on Halloween so she will have to wear a jacket over her dress while Trick or Treating but it will be perfect for her Birthday Party and indoor Halloween parties too. We never put our costumes away once Halloween is over either, my daughter loves playing dress up all year long!

I also had my eye on the Pettiskirts & Tutus that are available from Pink Princess, they have quite a few different designs and even leotards to match. Who doesn't love a little girl in a Tutu? Make sure to take a good look around and see what catches your eye, because I have a giveaway for you! (Don't forget to check out the flower girl accessories to find the perfect shoes, tiaras or jackets for your little Princess' wardrobe!) Have a little boy? Don't worry, there is something for them too!

{Cool for School} Event Sponsors!

The countdown to School has begun! My kids go back to school on September 8th which is just 4 weeks away! Here is the list of sponsors for reviews or giveaways coming up for my Cool for School event. These reviews will start being posted this week and my event will run into September. I still have some non-school related things to post in between, so it will be a fun month! The list looks short right now, but don't worry - I have much more lined up and will add to the list as I receive the products in the mail!

Hachette Books - Ah-Choo!
Hachette Books - The Glamour of Grammar

Back to School also means we are that much closer to my favorite holiday of all - Halloween! We have other reasons to celebrate in October in my house as well since both my daughter and I will be having our Birthdays! I am working on my Halloween Birthday Bash event that will run all through October and already have some great sponsors lined up for that event too!

If you are a business and would like to be featured in either of these events, please email me at misfitmomma @ gmail.com
