The Seashore ~ A CD to Help Children Sleep

I have been having a hard time getting my 5 year old to bed on a regular routine, so I will be featuring several bed time themed products over the next several weeks while I attempt to get my daughter to bed earlier. The first I will be writing about are two very different CD's. This one is The Seashore which is made and sold by Rachael and Charles Vald.

My daughter can be very hyper, and very imaginative. Some nights she doesn't want to go to bed because she will miss her "pets" (her toys) so was happy to have the chance to review The Seashore and see how it would help her. It is well known that white noise such as the peaceful sounds of the ocean can work wonders on lulling you to sleep. Pair these sounds with a calm and inviting voice, and you've got what sounds like the flawless combination. A very gentle guided meditation aiding a better nights sleep.

The CD arrived very quickly from the UK, and that night I played it for my daughter after going through our normal routine. I expected her to come out of her room as usual, but I was amazed that it actually put her to sleep before it had even finished playing! The first night! I almost didn't know what to do with all the extra time I had without her coming out of her room for hours after hours.

Since that first night, there have been some nights where it didn't get her sleeping right away. Usually when she was already a little too hyper to stay in bed and actually pay attention to the CD. On those nights, she would come and ask me to play it again, and by the time it would be done playing for the second time she would be asleep. I'd say she has fallen asleep with the first playing about 3/4 of the time...which is still a huge improvement from it taking 2-3 hours to get her to calm down!

The Seashore begins much the same way many adult relaxation CD's do, where the hypnotist tells the listener to concentrate on relaxing each muscle starting from the toes to the head. To make it easier for children to understand, instead of telling them to relax, Charles tells them to imagine their favorite color surrounding each muscle.

This is an excellent choice that I would happily recommend if you are having troubles with your child at bedtime, and is available to purchase on CD or a digital download from Hypnosis Healthcare where you can choose from CD's such as Baby Sleep and Sleep Relief for those with insomnia plus many more from nail biting to anger control.

They offer free shipping of their CD's to UK, Guernsey, Jersey, Ireland, USA, Canada, Australia, France, Germany, Spain, Holland, and everywhere else in Europe - and full refunds if you aren't happy for any reason! Post a relevant comment on this review or about something you would like to try from Hypnosis Healthcare and receive an extra entry into all my giveaways!

My daughter has a sound machine that plays relaxing ocean waves. This sounds like a wonderful cd.

Even if this CD wouldn't work for my daughter (who fights sleep as hard as she can every night!), I wonder if it would help me sleep! I always have had sleep problems.

I think that it may help us adults too, but they also sell CD's that are made for adults! I have trouble sleeping too.... but a big part of it is because my kids go to bed late then I want that me time and end up staying up later than I should myself.

This looks great. I don't have a young one, but I could see myself using it for myself

How wonderful!
There is nothing that relaxes ME like the sound of water and waves.
I'm sure this would be perfect for the little ones!
Thanks for sharing.
