Holiday Gift Guide - Misikko Hair Products

I have never been one to fuss over my hair, but I recently started getting comments from my family members on the fact that my hair wasn't looking it's best. I had let it go for so long without cutting, trimming, or really doing anything other than using regular shampoo and conditioner that the ends had split severely.

Since then, I've started working on getting my hair to look nice. The first thing I did was cut it, and then dyed it. Unfortunately, split ends can't simply be fixed by applying a hair product but over time I can just hope that the products I do have available will help protect my hair from further damage.

CHI Silk Infusion™ - Reconstructing Complex is specially formulated for thermal styling and hair repair. CHI Silk Infusion contains no alcohol, so it won't dry your hair out as a leave in treatment - and it'll leave your hair with the head-turning, lustrous shine of pure silk.

Farouk CHI Silk Infusion Features:

  •  Leave in, alcohol free reconstructing treatment
  • Enriched with pure natural silk, wheat and soy proteins
  • For soft manageable hair with incredible shine and no build up
  • Protects the hair against thermal styling and environment

Hana Shine Shield is the latest product in a line committed to safe, effective heat styling. Shine Shield is a thermal serum that can be used as a leave-in conditioner - lightweight and never greasy, it protects and strengthens hair whether you use it with a flat iron, hair dryer or alone. Shine Shield contains the natural magic of Jojoba oil for its superb qualities of deep moisturization, fast absorption into hair follicles and scalp, and unparalleled shimmer & shine. 6 oz.

Hana Shine Shield Features:
  • Lightweight leave-in conditioning therapy
  • Designed to protect and restore both hair and scalp from environmental and styling stress
  • Jojoba absorbs quickly without a greasy feel for thorough deep conditioning
  • Jojoba naturally dissolves soil, removing build-up from other styling products to leave hair clean & supple
  • Jojoba naturally excels at thickening keratin layers, bringing out your hair's natural color overtones, highlights and brilliance
  • Periodic use over time is proven to advance the quality of your hair & the health of your scalp

I received a bottle of CHI Silk Infusion and a bottle of Hana Shine Shield Thermal Protectant from Misikko for this review and feel like my hair looks better every time I use them. I found that I only needed to use a small amount of each so even though the bottles aren't very big I do think that it will be a while before I will need to replace them.

Not only did these products help make my hair look better and feel softer, they have also helped make my hair much more manageable. I've owned my hair dryer for years, but rarely used it because it would make my hair frizzy. Now, I use it every time I shower and my hair actually looks nice! Instead of wondering if people are noticing how bad my hair looks, I wonder if they notice how good it looks. Thanks Misikko!

I would love to eventually own one of the CHI Hair Straightener's and a new hair dryer. I'm still undecided which one would be the best hair dryer for me since they all look pretty fantastic, but the Ed Hardy Love Kills one is very tempting simply due to the detailing.

Holiday Gift Guide - Bigen Hair Color

I had been wanting to get my hair dyed for quite a while, but the cost has been holding me back for sometime. I have always thought that doing it myself would be complicated, so have never tried but as somebody who is willing to try anything once I couldn't turn the chance to try out some of Bigen's ammonia free hair color. I picked out two colors; Deep Burgundy and Dark Auburn and received them within just a few days.

About:
Bigen Permanent Hair Color is ideal for those looking for long lasting 100% gray coverage or to enhance their natural hair color. Bigen permanent hair color is ammonia free and requires no hydrogen peroxide. The unique powder formula is activated by water to naturally open the hair’s cuticle to deposit rich, natural color into even the most stubborn gray hair. This deposit only color is the gentle choice and has been proven for over thirty years.
At first I was a little confused. After mixing the powder dye with water, the directions say to apply onto dry hair with a brush yet there is no brush or comb included with the package. Other brands that I have seen my Mom use included a comb for application yet this one only included the measuring tray, a pair of plastic gloves, and the powder. I ended up using my fingers to glop the mixture (which had a runny jam type consistency) into my hair. I then used a wide tooth comb to even it out.

I had originally planned to use the Dark Auburn for my entire head, with the Deep Burgundy as highlights. My daughter got a hold of the packages and when I put the bottles back into the boxes I ended up mixing them up - as in I ended up using the Deep Burgundy on my entire head. It turned out to be a good thing as I was happy that the color resulted in an almost purple almost black shade. Not a bright purple by any means and it really needs just the right lighting to look purple, but I like it! I haven't used the Dark Auburn yet, but will once my hair is ready for more color.

This dye would be perfect for anyone who is sensitive to the harsh odors that many dyes have, and was very easy to use even for a first timer. If you know someone who is thinking about getting their hair done, or if you want to give yourself a new look for the Holidays Bigen ammonia and hydrogen-peroxide free hair color would make a great inexpensive gift!

But It!
Bigen is available at Wal Mart, Sally's Beauty, CVS and other fine retailers. Their store locator will help you find the closest one to you!
