Osteoporosis awareness with On The Go Women

osteoporosis, bisphosphonates, osteoporosis treatment, strong bones, healthy bones, osteoporosis fracture, healthy bone, osteoporosis risk factors, osteoporosis fractures, osteoporosis injection, osteoporosis information, osteoporosis risks

Has anyone close to you suffered from Osteoporosis? It definitely isn't something that is on my mind everyday but it may be more common than you know.

One in four aren't very good odds and though it is more common after menopause osteoporosis can strike at any age. Sometimes called the "silent thief" because it has no obvious symptoms it is a common disease in which your bones become brittle and more porous. People with osteoporosis usually don't even feel ill - many don't even find out there is a problem until they break a bone.

Even though the Month is nearly over I'm sure you were all aware that October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, but were you also aware that October 20th was World Osteoporosis Day?

On The Go Women is a new website packed with resources and information for Canadians. This easy to navigate site aims to encourage conversation between people with osteoporosis and their healthcare providers about the disease, the importance of compliance and the available treatment options that are most suitable for their health and lifestyle.

Are you concerned that osteoporosis could get in the way of the things you love — or need — to do? The good news is, you may be able to take action now to strengthen your bones. And if you’re already taking an osteoporosis treatment, you may have options you don't know about.

Could you be at risk for osteoporosis? Find out now at OnTheGoWomen.ca and don't let osteoporosis slow you down!

I didn't know that October was World Osteoporosis Day. I took the test and it was very good news..I'm not at risk, at the moment anyways.

I know I will be at risk as I get older, my mom easily fractures her ankles and wrists and has the beginings of osteoporosis now!

Another great site for osteoporosis knowledge is www.healthandbone.ca - Dr. Marla Shapiro writes a column for it and it's really informative.
