I have a major shortage of plugs which I can use in my small house. It seems like all the easily accessable plugs are filled up with something and I am constantly having to unplug one thing just to use another. We have three PSP's and two cell phones that are regulairly needing to be charged along with several other devices that need a charge every few days as well. With all those cords things are bound to get lost, and get lost they did. We are now down to only one charger for the PSP's, and of the original four that I had for my phones & bluetooth I am down to two. I do keep one at my Mom's in case my phone dies there so I am left with only one at home.

This has got to be one of the coolest gadgets I have had the chance to use and review! I wish I had a fancy iPhone, Blackberry, or even a Nintendo DS so that I could have told you all about how you simply attach the Receiver to your devices then drop them onto the mat for charging... but since I don't I will just have to talk a little about the Universal Powercube Receiver instead.

Each Powermat comes with a Powercube and 8 tips but it does require you to have a receiver for each device you would like to charge. When considering the purchasing price you will need to factor in the price of at least 2 additional receivers so that you can fully take advantage of charging 3 things at once (Or four, with the USB port). I have been using the Home & Office Mat daily to charge my phone and PSP for a couple of weeks now. Like I said above I do not have many spare outlets to use around the house and I have had to move or unplug the Powermat a few times but it sure beats the tangle of wires that I had before. There are three magnets on each mat and you have to make sure you line up your receiver with the magnet to begin charging. Once the receiver is properly in place the mat beeps and a small light at the bottom turns on to indicate that it is working. There are tiny buttons at the back of the mat which you can use to turn the volume & brightness down, or completely off. One other neat thing is that it automatically stops charging your device once it is at full power.

I can keep the Portable Powermat in it's handy case inside my bag when I go out and never have to worry if I brought the right charger. It can also be used while it is folded to save desk space if you only need to charge one or two devices at a time. The case it comes with is a pretty tight fit for just the Portable Mat & the plug and it would be nice to have a case for the Powercube to go along with it but other than that I have no complaints!
