I was recently given the chance to review a pair of sunglasses, which I was really excited about and kept my fingers crossed while I wanted for them to arrive in the mail. I haven't had any sunglasses all summer because I am somewhat picky and the glasses that I can afford I refuse to buy because I don't like the way they look on me. I really liked the photo of the glasses I chose, but countless times I have gone into the store and picked up a pair that I liked, only to change my mind after trying them on.
Well, my glasses came in the mail and I immediately ripped them out of the little plastic bag they came packaged in and tried them on. Before looking in the mirror, I asked my husband how they looked and he said "They Look Ok.." Usually when he says that, it's his nice way of saying they don't look Ok. I said Well, they were under the mens glasses category..I guess you can have them if they don't look good on me. Each pair of glasses on the site includes the measurements and since these ones measured the same, and even smaller than some of the womens I thought they would be able to pass as womens.
That was when I walked over to the mirror to take a look for myself, and guess what? I loved them! They fit and looked just the way I like my glasses to look! My husbands tastes are obviously not the same as mine, but I should have known that already..I wore them driving to the store around noon and it was so nice to finally be able to drive without squinting due to the sun blinding me. Later in the afternoon I wore them to the park and felt good about them the entire time instead of taking them off like I often do with glasses that I don't like. I was so incredibly happy with my new shades!
After we left the park, I did a few things in the house and decided to BBQ. Yes, the same BBQ I blogged about a little while back. It was later in the evening so I didn't wear the glasses since the sun was not so bright. I didn't even think about them until afterwards and that was when I realized I didn't put them away where I had intended to. I looked around for over an hour, on my desk, the bookshelf, the dresser by the entry door, the kitchen table & counter. I even looked inside the fridge and freezer! After one wonderful day of wearing my new favorite shades, I lost them. I know I had them on when I came home from the park. The only conclusion that I could come to is that one of the kids took them (Of course they all say they didn't).
Now that it has been a full two weeks since I lost my glasses I have given up hunting for them and will just have to hope they show up in some unusual place while cleaning. Unfortunately I did not get any photos before I lost them but if you are wondering which ones I chose, it was these sporty sunglasses in black & gray which I pictured above. Next time, I will try harder not to lose them!
